T-54B
HISTORY
The armored warfare lessons of WWII led to the development of the Russian T-54 Main Battle Tank. As an early Cold Warrior, the T-54 underwent various upgrades during the 1950s with our T-54B reflecting a later development of main gun stabilizations in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Also new to the “B” was the capability of night vision, deep wading abilities, a fire extinguisher system, and additional minor upgrades.
This specific T-54B also received further modifications for Nuclear Chemical and Biological (NBC) defense probably sometime in the early 1960s. Mechanically reconditioned, we left its appearance unimproved displaying the patina and coarsening effects of its unique time on earth.
